Caddo Lake State Park, Tx

We stayed two days at Caddo Lake State Park. During our stay we did some magnet fishing off the fishing piers. We quickly amassed quite the collection of lost bait knives and even a hiking pole. Bait knives are super common find but the hikers pole was a first for us!

On day two we rented a four seater canoe from the park and canoed through the cypress trees. From the pond inlet we paddled up river and floated back to the pond.

While in the park we were impressed to see the bathhouses were in good condition. The park also has cabins and screened in shelters for rent.

From Caddo Lake State Park we continued onto the historic town of Jefferson, Tx. We pulled into The Jefferson General Store to enjoy some 5 cent cups of coffee over a game of checkers. We toured the Jefferson Historical Society Museum, which was outstanding. The museum was easily the best city museum we’ve ever toured. The museum displays a great curated collection located within what used to be the regions US District Court house.
