If you are a sweet tooth person or just craving sugar then Blue Star Donuts may have just what you’re looking for. If you arrive early enough this clean small shop has multiple flavors available. From Chocolate Almond Genache to Hibiscus flavored donuts, I was intrigued as I read the names of donuts. These are not your average donuts as they seem to include a variety of unique ingredients and an abundance of toppings.
I came across some nice looking donuts with grown up names attached. Here you can see Apple Brandy Crumble, Blueberry Cake, and Mexican Hot Chocolate. I ultimately decided on a Raspberry Rosemary Buttermilk and the Apple Brandy Crumble with a 16oz. coffee. These were eye appealing and their colors were so bright that it was difficult to narrow down to picking just two donuts. In total I spent $12.65, not bad for a great donut experience.
I chose to sit outside to enjoy the cool weather and my donut experience. Each donut was unique, but the Raspberry Rosemary Buttermilk was the one I will remember and recommend. It was a bit of a challenge to not make a mess and I can say without a doubt I did have a chunk of Raspberry stuck in my beard about an hour later. The coffee was average but I say this because the donut was my focus for sure so I was busy making sure not to miss a single morsel.
