Smithwoods is a quaint little RV Park that rests along highway 9 in Felton, California. We did not expect driving to this RV park would be an adventure. The sign for the entrance is not difficult to miss and welcoming. As you slowly drive down the steep drive away you’ll notice signs where to park. At Smithwoods RV Park, they appreciate it if you stop and go into the office first. Driving through the park without someone guiding you is highly frowned upon. They would prefer to escort you into the park because it is a tight fit to drive through.

Smithwoods covers all your basics and then some although most people that stay here have a big enough rig and do not use the amenities. Traveling van style and having the basics such as bathrooms, showers and laundry is an added bonus for van-lifers. Smithwoods provides you with what you need without the bells and whistles.
The added bonus will benefit families with children. While visiting, there was a family reunion going on next to us so lots of little ones enjoyed the pool, ping pong table, and game room. You’ll mainly find the older kids around the game room because the WiFi signal is the strongest. The signal is ONLY found behind the office.

You can definitely enjoy a relaxing dinner outdoors since fire pits are allowed there. We used our pop up grill instead. It’s portable and works well so we used our own verses the one at Smithwoods. Thinking about having a simple camping experience? Smithwoods RV Park will take you right there.
